What an incredible Women’s March weekend we had last Saturday, January 20, 2018. I felt so honored to dance and see all the amazing empowered faces of both women and men in the crowd. It felt amazing to represent OULA and share the crowd’s infectious enthusiasm.
This has been a tough year for many of us – for women, minorities, aliens and the like. To have a few minutes recognizing our strengths; our struggles – striving for equality for all; for compassion for all – it solidified for me what this country should be about. Kali’s words that she spoke that day said it so well. “Women, Men, Families – all you beautiful people standing side by side. We are going to march side by side. We are going to dance side by side. We are going to share our stories side by side – so that we can rewrite this story.”
Side by side we are stronger-in the end love wins. We must shine our lights into the darkness to illuminate the way to peace and understanding and love.
