Regarding lodging...

  • Can I pitch a tent instead?  Of course! For the sake of simplicity, registration costs will remain the same for both tent and bunk campers.
  • Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?  Yes, Camp Paxson’s mattresses are as naked as a skinny-dipper!
  • Is there running water?  Yes, in the bathhouses and dining hall.
  • Is there drinking water?  Yes, all the water is drinkable; we even threw some lemons in it last year!
  • How about electricity?  Yes, each cabin is outfitted with two outlets, should you need.
  • Cell service?  Yep!
  • Wi-Fi?  No siree!
  • Will I have access to a shower?  Yes, there are six showers across two bathhouses.
  • Are there in-cabin restrooms or outhouses?  Four restrooms are located in each bathhouse, no more than 20 steps from any cabin.
  • How many bunks are available?  Each of the 11 cabins holds four campers comfortably, so 44 total.
  • How many of my besties can sleep in my cabin with me?  Three, since each cabin holds four campers.
  • How will my bunkmates be assigned?  Info on preferred bunkmates will be collected in June 2024.
  • Can I request a sobriety-friendly cabin?  Of course, no questions asked.
  • What do I need to bring?  Yourself just as you are, and we'll send your packing list by August 1.

Regarding Oula...

  • Can I teach an Oula class during camp?  WE’D LOVE THAT! Instructor info (for solo or team-teaching!) will be collected in June 2024.
  • What kinda surface are we gonna be dancing on?  Based on camper feedback, we're researching flooring options to improve upon the concrete in the main lodge.
  • Are other Oula experiences (Oulabration, Oulacation, etc.) being planned for 2024?  Just Oula's P!nk Party in conjunction with her Missoula concert in August!

Regarding meals...

  • What are we gonna eat?  Casual but delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks and you’ll even get to help with some prep!
  • What if I have specific dietary needs?  We're happy to accommodate, so we'll collect info on dietary needs (including but not limited to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto) in June 2024.

Regarding everything else...

  • Can I drive myself to Camp Paxson?  Of course you can!
  • Can I attend class(es) in the Missoula area if my flight gets in Sunday morning?  In fact, we'd encourage it. We're planning for a big old Caras Park party under the tent, too!
  • What time does the party bus leave Missoula on Sunday? Late afternoon (from Caras Park) so feel free to grab lunch beforehand!
  • How will I get from the airport to Caras Park?  One of our many friendly Missoula Oulakins will be there to pick you up!
  • What if my flight's delayed?  Don't worry, we'll track your flight to make sure you don't get left in Missoula.
  • What time do the airport shuttles leave Camp Paxson on Thursday?  As early as needed, and as late 10am.
  • What are we gonna do for four days?  Get ready to  experience  our community out in nature. Bring your full self and reconnect to  you  among the fun, relaxed, unplugged energy that is Camp Oula. We’ll roll out a detailed schedule in August, but look forward to workshops, as much Oula (and Power, One, and Fusion) as you’d like, plenty of downtime, and all that Montana fall has to offer.
  • Can my family come?  Any Oulakins (current and future!) over the age of 18 are more than welcome at Camp Oula.
  • How about my dog(s)?  Well-behaved dogs with good recall are welcome throughout Camp Paxson, though the only pup-friendly buildings are the cabins. Owners are also expected to behave decently and make sure all poop makes it into trash or compost bins.
  • Can participants come, or just instructors?  ALL ARE WELCOME AT CAMP OULA! The more, the merrier!
  • Will alcohol be provided?  We won’t be supplying alcohol, but you’re welcome to bring your own! Alcohol consumption is allowed on camp property, but your collection (growlers, 12-packs, bottles over 12 oz., etc.) will stay in your cabin (or tent) with the rest of your things.
  • Can I bring marijuana or other drugs?  Go for it, assuming weed possession remains legal in Montana for those over the age of 21, but please leave any illicit drugs at home.
  • Is smoking allowed?  Yes, though use of fire-ignited smoking devices (joints, cigarettes, tobacco pipes, etc.) is restricted to the smokers' patio.
  • Are we required to have had the COVID-19 vax?  No, though rapid testing is recommended for all campers on both Sunday and Monday, regardless of vaccination status.
  • What if I can’t come but have an extra sleeping bag for an out-of-state Oulakin?  How kind of you to offer! Email studio@oulafitness.com with the subject line “Camp Oula gear” whenever is convenient.
  • Does Montana have mosquitoes?  Our great state is home to many tiny creatures whom you may or may not want around. If that’s of concern to you, a good bug spray is recommended.
  • Can / should I bring my guitar?  We don’t see why not!
  • What about my paddleboard?  Same answer as above.
  • Will there be bears?  At this time, we are not aware of any non-domesticated animals who partake in Oula, though the Seeley Swan valley is home to deer, foxes, bears, mountain lions, egrets, geese, bats, mice, squirrels, and many other species. Historically, the critters tend to avoid Camp Paxson when it’s inhabited by groups, as they have little interest in human activities.
  • Is Montana cold in September?  Sometimes! Of course, it’s hard to predict with our ever-changing climate. It'll definitely get cold once the sun's down, so you’ll want to bring layers!
  • What if there’s too much wildfire smoke for us to be outdoors?  As noted above, the climate’s a tricky thing to predict. Montana’s fire season (Mayish through Octoberish) is projected to get longer, and fire danger is generally expected to increase. We’ll play it by ear and keep you updated in the weeks leading up to camp.
  • Can I purchase this as a gift?  Of course, and how sweet of you! Just add to cart, then type the name of the recipient in the order notes so we can apply the registration cost to the correct camper.

What else? Don't hesitate to email us your questions at hq@oulafitness.com and we'll get them added to the list! If you're wondering it, someone else might be, too!
